Family Memberships

Yes! If you purchased your tickets online, you can upgrade to a membership on the same day as your visit. If you purchased your tickets at the park Box Office, you can make the upgrade on the same day as the purchase date of the tickets. Your receipt is required for all admission-to-membership upgrades. To make this upgrade, please head to Membership Services.

All adult members must provide a photo ID to enter the park if doing a walk up admission. You will be charged the current general admission price of $13 if you do not show your photo ID.

All adult Fairyland members entering the park need their photo ID to match the name on the membership. Non-members will need to pay the current general admission price of $13 to visit Fairyland.

It has always been Fairyland’s policy that adults are only admitted with children and vice versa. The park is intended for families and friends with children.

If the rest of your party is inside, someone must meet you at the ticket gate WITH a child. Adults are only admitted WITH a child, and children are only admitted WITH an adult. Most people meet outside the park’s entrance until everyone in the group has arrived.

No, we are not able to refund your membership for any reason.

If you need to leave Children’s Fairyland for any reason, please get a hand stamp at kiosk for in/out privileges (good only for your session time).

Yes! Members get 50% off admission to these special events. These specially-themed events feature giveaways, extra activities and special performances! Use your membership code when you reserve tickets online to get your discount.

Membership does NOT include parking. The City of Oakland manages and monitors the parking lot. Neighborhood parking and metered parking is available around the park on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to take any valuables with you. Vehicle break-ins are an unfortunate reality around Lake Merritt.

Oops! First check with “Lost and Found” in our Gift Shop. Of course, we cannot guarantee that what you lost will be there. Replacement Membership Magic Keys are available for $4 each.

Seven people is the maximum number per membership. Additions are determined on a case-by-case basis and up to the discretion of Membership Services.

Changes can be made for an additional fee during the course of your membership. Requests can be submitted via email, phone, or in person at membership services.

A membership to Children’s Fairyland includes unlimited admission to the park at no additional charge, for one year from the date of issue (excluding special events). All memberships are active immediately upon receipt of completed purchase.

All members receive:
• Unlimited park admission for each member on regular open days;
• 50% discount on admission to the Jack O’ Lantern Jamboree in October, Fairy
Winterland in December; and discounts to other special events;
• Exclusive special edition Fairyland Magic Key for each child member;
• Fairyland bumper sticker;
• 10% discount at Johnny Appleseed’s Café, all year;
• 10% discount in Fairyland’s in-park gift shop, all year;
• 10% Member’s discount off the cost for birthday party packages, when available (note:

Fairyland’s Community Engagement Program offers a limited number of sponsored family memberships to qualifying low-income families through a direct application process. The membership is good for one year and the benefits include park admission for each member (up to two adults and three children), a Magic Key for each child, and discounts to our gift shop, café, birthday party rentals, and summer camp. To submit an application, please download and complete this form. Application may be mailed or dropped off in person.
